GAME DAY PROCEDURES
- KNOW THE NFHS RULES.
- 30 minutes before kickoff:
- Arrive on site
- Sign so you get paid for game(s)
- Wear black shorts and black t-shirt
- Communicate with your crew if you are running late
- Let HOME COACH know you are there so they don’t call assignor!
- Referee crew pre-game briefing.
- Field Inspection: Locate Administrator, clock operator, inquire about player introductions/National Anthem procedures (varsity matches). Check that goals are anchored, corner flags are present, field is properly marked.
- Greet coaches: Obtain team rosters, ask coaches if players are properly equipped. Check game balls for proper air. Locate ball handlers (strongly suggested to take a photo of both team rosters before the game or at halftime in case you have to fill out an incident report).
- Call for Team Captains: execute coin flip.
- Return completed Roster to coaches after the match. Referee crew names, teams, final score and all cautions and ejections should be properly noted on the Roster before returning to coaches.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
